Jennifer Malaquias Ryan has been consistently pursuing her passion for the performing arts for almost her entire life. She began at the age of three studying classical ballet at the Mid-Cape Ballet Academy under the pedagogy of Russian prima ballerina, Virginia Zango Traub. She participated in over a decade of recitals and Nutcrackers where she had the pleasure of performing most of the cast roles. From there, she began ballet and fusion competitions, placing high gold in several categories both as a soloist and as an ensemble performer. At the same time, she began a flourishing acting study at Falmouth Academy under Elizabeth Ledwell. Recruited to the acting and dance departments of Denison University, Jennifer was cast as a principal in many acting and dance projects. Highlights include a principal corps dancer in a production choreographed by Alvin Ailey alum, Dwight Rhoden, as well as mainstage acting roles in plays such as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Westside Story.
After graduation, Jennifer relocated to New York City where she attended The Atlantic Theater Company’s competitive summer program. She created a home in NYC while she continued to book commercial, theatrical, film, and dance roles. Since then, Jennifer has relocated to a nearby Connecticut town to start her family. She is actively attending voice lessons under Golden Globe-winning actor Cynthia Gibb, is attending a professional invite-only acting class with Triple Threat Academy, is mentored by Paul B. Herman of Press Play, and studies under well-known voice actor, Charlie Schlatter, for voiceover work. She is most recently known for dancing in several lead roles for the Double Up Dance Studio showcase, played Ms. Savannah in an award-nominated short film entitled “Lux Freer” as well as starred in a soon-to-be-released music video under a well-known rap artist.
